PART ONE:
Eccentricity means people whose behaviors
are unconventional and slightly strange. The word "eccentricity" is
for those people who are different in terms of behavior, living style, and the
way they do things in the society. They do what they feel is right and what
their family has passed from generation to next generation which is different
than what other people would do. Others may find these people strange just
because they are different from others. But, being eccentricity is not a bad
thing. You will find lots of eccentricity people in the United States. Everyone
in this world is different than other individuals. One might have a talent for
singing and other might have dancing or they might have the same talent, but
how they show their talent might be different. So I think everyone in this
world is eccentric. I am proud that even I live in America, I still have the
Indian culture and all the fun activities with me. My family also allows me to
celebrate some American cultures and festivals. It might not be like how
Americans celebrate, but I do celebrate with my friends with my style. That’s
what makes me who I am really is and nothing can change that.
PART TWO:
I did some
basic research on how becoming vegetarian has helped people in reducing health
issues. https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/becoming-a-vegetarian
Research shows total vegetarian or vegan diets are healthful and can provide
lots of health benefits with prevention and treatment of certain diseases. I have
I found this picture interesting because my mom cooks these things every day. We still grow some of these items
on our fields today, of course not in the US, but back in India.
I really liked your opinions on eccentricity. Do you feel there is ever a time when eccentricity could be a bad thing?
ReplyDeleteI just watched a documentary on Netflix with my sister called "What the Health" that talked about all about our normal diets that we believe is healthy like dairy, and meats (including: grilled chicken, steak, beef, sausage...) is all very unhealthy for us. The concept of us saying we "need" meat to get our protein is proven wrong and is validated by an all vegan diet. This documentary also showed cases of people who were on a lot of medicine daily and within 2 weeks of switching to an all vegan diet, they were completely off the medicine; meaning they were 10x healthier! I just thought this added on to your research.
ReplyDeletePrem I thought it was interesting how you tied your research back to you personally and how your family grows the vegetables in the picture. I also liked reading about your views on eccentricity and how you perceive yourself as eccentric because of your culture and how you celebrate here in the United States.
