Something in this book I truly agree with is point 13 on page 8 in the essay when he talk about schools and what they should teach. As much as I know it is a touchy subject to teach children about religion, I think it is important for them to b enlightened at a young age. "Our schools should teach the histories, cultures, arts, and languages of the Islamic nations" I think that is important because Islamic nations are always portrayed as the bad guys due to some Muslims who make the whole nation seem that way. If young children begin to know at a young age that people should not be classified by other people. I think that is important.
Something is this book I disagree with is in the second essay on page 17 when he was talking about Walmart being against local, privately owned businesses giving small competitors virtually nothing. He says, "The free-market is freest to those who have the most money and is not to those who with little to no money" (17). When you first look at this quote you can think is looks true but then look at his Walmart example. He is making it seem like Walmart is going against Mom & Pop shops putting them out of business. That is simply not true. Walmart goes against big cooperation like itself for the most part. Like Kroger, Meijer, Costco, Sams Club, and so on. I think this opinion of his was a little too biased for my likings.
As I am not too much into politics, and this whole book really revolves around politics and government and so on, so I had mixed feelings about a couple things. The most thing would be on page 18 when he started talking about cost of labor. I did not quite feel like he was talking off of true facts rather his opinion. He said " in order to keep the cost of labor low, it is necessary to move people everywhere into the city"(18). How does he know that this is accurate? On what basis is he talking about? So this is something I would look into myself.
